 It worried me a little that just afer I had settled into my room, something which sounded like an air-raid siren went off in the town and the motel owner dashed across the car park, got in this car and sped off. Thinking about it later, I wonder if he's in one of those volunteer fire brigades. I did see a fire engine going past a little while after that. It was a funny looking thing. In my room here, I was been wondering what time the shops in the village might close. It would only be when I came to write the captions for these pictures that I would realise I was still in the same village as that Day 'n Night shop in picture 891.
