 This is Milton. I see that unlike in Invercargill, the Night 'n Day shop here does close briefly during the night. The amazing tailwind has been making progress easy today despite the hills. The last 15 km has been on Route 1, the road shown here. It has lovely wide shoulders with no stones on them and is absolutely fine to ride on, as I had expected it to be but contrary to the opinions expressed by people from Southland who seem to think that a road is dangerous if it has any other vehicles on it at all.
