Up the stairs is the station but it's just a shelter with no information about train times or how to buy tickets. The only train around is the one on the road. Minibuses seem to be the best way to get about in Turkey.

I already had a hotel booked for tomorrow night on the way into Istanbul so I'm going to go there. I could then go into the city to the bike shop, get some spokes and come back but the hotel isn't far from the airport and I think I might just get a plane home. If the bike had carried on running like it did through Croatia and Serbia, I would have wanted to stay on it, especially now that I think I'm out of the rainy area. I don't want to have to spend an hour every day mending the wheel though. Getting it adjusted professionally won't help either. I did that in France, and then replaced it completely but it didn't help. Something is obviously very wrong.

I'm also a little apprehensive about what might lie beyond Istanbul, I probably shouldn't spend too much more money on this holiday and I know that my bank's website isn't very happy dealing with me when I'm abroad, which could cause problems when I have to pay my credit card bill in a few days. In a couple of days, I will also have used up all of the leave that I had to take from work so perhaps I should go back rather than starting to eat into next year's leave.

At least I won't have to take any of those anti-malaria tablets. If I had carried on, the malarial area would probably be about 10 days away yet.
