A gravel road. It was somewhere along here that I was startled by a 'woof' from the undergrowth and two dogs jumped out and started chasing me. They were the first of many dogs to chase me today, the only previous one on this trip having been back in Pennsylvania. I think it was probably a bit hot for today's dogs though. None of them chased me far. One house had two dogs, only one of which was small enough to fit through a gap in the fence. The one which was left behind seemed to be barking very purposefully but I couldn't tell whether it was telling me that it would be in the road too if it could or telling its friend to come back and stop being so silly.
