 Over the course of this trip, the numbers of the roads and the cycleways have been gradually increasing. Yesterday I was following cycle route 78 and the roads here start with 8 or 9 so it's a surprise to suddenly find myself on cycle route 1. It runs from London to John O'Groats and then continues on Orkney and Shetland.
