![]() Today I have to get from one end of Loch Ness to the other. I had thought that I might do that using the A82 along the West bank but having ridden on some sections of that road already, I've decided that I don't fancy another whole day of it so instead today I'm taking one of General Wade's old military roads on the East side. Just before I set off this morning, the owner of the B&B gave his opinion that this was the best option. Unfortunately, the road doesn't cling to the loch shore. Instead, it starts by climbing right out of the valley then coming back down again. Here is a view back towards Fort Augustus from part-way up the climb.
