 A man and his young daughter saw me photographing this sundial and paused to have a brief look at it. She started to ask him what it was and how it worked. As they disappeared out of earshot, I heard him say he didn't know how people got it to tell the time correctly. I was almost tempted to chase after them and explain it all. Look, it's even got the equation of time plotted on it. I wouldn't have been able to give a great demonstration though because its not sunny.
