 The weather forecast predicted a headwind which would get gradually stronger throughout the day. I set off comparatively early this morning and didn't stop much so that I would reach Thurso before the wind reached its full strength. That does mean that even though tonight's hotel is one of the rare ones which lets you check in from two o'clock, I'm still an hour and a half too early. This garden looks like a good place to pass some of that time though. If you're interested, the nearer statue is John Sinclair, a former MP for Caithness. The other monument is a war memorial. I don't think the statue on it is anybody in particular.
