![]() Around midday we left the North American continental shelf so we are now on the deep ocean. The water below us is about 4500 metres deep. For some reason the ship's wake makes it look like we have just turned a corner. We shouldn't have done. It should be straight all the way from here to Land's End. Currents in the water must have just moved the light-coloured stripe.
