 It's a city of archways. Incidentally, I re-watched The Italian Job a few weeks after the end of this trip and discovered that this was the exact place where the robbery took place. The balcony in the top right of this picture is where Camp Freddy was standing in his pink suit. One of the transporter lorries was stationed where those flags are on the left and was then driven from left to right to block off those archways. The security van was just where I am standing. Then the gang came round my left side in the Land Rover, parked it in the middle of this picture, beat up the guards, hitched the security van to the back of the Land Rover and towed it into that doorway on the right, where the man in uniform is standing. It looks like the scene where they unloaded the gold was filmed inside that building.
