On almost any major road in this area, there is a cycle lane on at least one side of the road. I'm impressed at how continuous it is. Sometimes it's just a narrow strip of tarmac with damage caused by tree roots but it's always there and always somehow distinguished from the footpath. Here, it's marked pink and weaves a path under the bus station. In the Netherlands, the cycle lane is always identified by being pink. That standard is sometimes used in other places, such as here, but I have seen roads in Germany where the cycle lane is grey and the footpath is pink, which is slightly confusing.
