 I've arrived at my destination over an hour earlier than I expected because for the last 35 miles, the ground has been flat, I've had a slight tailwind, and I've been pedalling as fast as I can: first to try to get out from under the expanding rainclouds, and then, once it was raining on me, to try to get indoors as quickly as possible. I think 8 hours and 40 minutes is pretty good for 98 miles.
