In the US, railways are mainly for freight. There are several railway companies which each have their own tracks. Amtrak is the passenger train operator, which has negotiated to run its trains over some of the same tracks. This railway is owned by a company called BNSF. Several of their pickup trucks have passed me today. Now one of them is on the tracks. A silly thing is that every time I see the name BNSF, my brain interprets it as the Belgian railway operator, which I seem to just remember as SNCF but with one of the letters replaced by a B.
