 After 15 days of riding, today is my first rest day. I'm staying here in Casper until Monday morning, when the bike shop opens. I had thought I was going to have a very relaxing day but last night, my laptop finally died. For several days, it has been abruptly shutting itself down with no warning. At first, I thought it was just overheating because it has occasionally had that problem in the past. However, I started to notice that it seemed to be shutting down when I moved it or sometimes just tapped it, so I came to believe that it probably had a fragile short circuit somewhere. Yesterday, it turned itself off while it was in sleep mode in my panier during the ride and it couldn't have been overheating then. Then, late last night, I happened to tap the front part wile I was typing and it turned itself off for good. When I saw this poster yesterday, I liked the sound of a large buffet but thought that since the description involved a different motorway junction, the Eastridge Mall would probably be too far to ride on a rest day. I'm going there now though because it's probably the only place in Casper where I can buy a new laptop and a caddy for my old hard drive on a Sunday.
