Inside the shop-come-cafe-come-petrol station in Hiland. The door on the left leads to a bar. Apparently, this place is also a motel but it can't have many rooms otherwise they would have been more obvious. The elderly couple standing at the counter are from New Mexico and have taken a drive up north for a few days. The couple sitting at the table claimed to be the great grandparents of the boy, although they don't look old enough to me. They live in Casper and own a business in Thermopolis so they drive this roughly 100 mile road frequently but very rarely call in here, at the only stop along the way. I was amused that when the boy found out I was English, he asked why I wasn't sticking my little finger out when swigging from my water bottle.

When I came out from here, I found that my back tyre had gone flat again. This time, I changed the inner tube and, in the process, discovered that one of the spare tubes which I have carried all this way had the wrong type of valve for my pump. I really should check these things more thoroughly.
