 On this side of the pass, I have the choice of the road or this path on the right. I was leaning towards taking the road because I don't know what the path is like, because there's very little traffic going my way on the road, even though there is a pretty good flow going the other way, and because I thought that if anything happened to me on the path, I might not get found for days. However, I just met a man who was dressed as a cyclist and driving a car with bikes on the back, and he definitely recommended the path. He also said "good luck", which I found slightly concerning.
