 This was my unnecessary luggage. These are all items which I have had with me since I left home but have not used at all and now do not expect to use until I get back home. I forgot to include my mosquito repellent in the picture. Notable items here are a seven spare pairs of eclipse glasses, a pair of waterproof trousers which I bought just before the trip and cost me a hundred pounds, and a spare tyre. I've never brought a spare tyre on a trip before and I don't know whether tyres are actually much good after they've been folded up like that but that is how it was sold. It's a space-saver: it's narrower than my normal tyres but would have been sufficient to use on the front wheel for a few days if I had had a catastrophic tyre failure somewhere remote. I don't regret bringing this stuff. On previous trips, photocopies of my driving licence would have been included on this list but it was useful to have one this year.
