I'm just a few metres away now from closing the loop and completing a journey of 4497 km, or 2794 miles. It's not quite the longest trip I've done but it's the first where I have used absolutely no powered transport of any kind the entire way.

Well done to the bike. The only problems it had were a few flat tyres, one broken spoke and one broken gear cable. One of the welds on the panier rack did fail but my velcro strap repair fixed it adequately. I've done the entire trip on one chain, which probably isn't recommended. I did intend to replace the chain on the morning when I replaced the tyre in Crawley but I couldn't because the chain breaking tool was screwed into the multitool so tightly that I couldn't get it out without the pliers, which I had left in my hotel room.

I'm afraid I won't be able to make the angle of the final picture exactly match the first one because to do that would involve revisiting the spot from which I retrieved the camera after taking the first one, and I don't want to intersect my route from the start of the trip until I reach the bollard.
