 I made it about 2 km on the gravel, enough to get down the other side of the hill and past a sign saying that this road would be significantly longer than I had expected, before getting a puncture. This one is on the front tyre, which is unusual. If I was in an optimistic mood, I might take that as a measure of how much better the new back tyre is than this old floppy Australian one. I'm not though. I'm completely fed up with this whole trip.
