 Eucla is slightly more than a roadhouse. There's also a second motel, and the ruins of an old telegraph station. There is a strong mobile phone signal from that mast, giving a good fast Internet connection. The strange thing is that I'm only 12 km from the Border roadhouse, where the only communications link was via satellite. I would have thought that if the phone company had fitted antennas to the available mounting points on the top of that mast, they could have covered both roadhouses in one go.
