 The modern pub wasn't involved in the siege as it didn't open until 28 years later but it has been dressed to look like the hotel under siege. The figures with buckets on their heads are Ned and the three gang members. The fireworks are something to do with somebody who was supposed to let off two rockets as a signal if the train derailment was successful, but got confused and let them off anyway after the police arrived. I haven't seen anything which explains how the polar bear was involved.
