 This looks like bad news. The paniers were making an unusual noise and when I checked, the part of the bike which the panier rack attaches to had broken off. I did check this bolt before leaving Höfn. It was quite a superficial check but I think I would have noticed this and the paniers certainly weren't making that sound the last time I rode the bike so this must have just happened. Perhaps it's what that odd noise was that I heard a few minutes ago. If the bike can't carry the paniers, I'll be in terrible trouble. I don't want to go on any further so I'm going back to Höfn.
