 After I had locked my bike in the most sensible place: the sign at the entrance to the car park which had two legs so that the bike could lean against it without falling over, the hotel receptionist suggested, as they so often do, that it would be safer closer to the room, even though all there are near the room are bare walls which couldn't possibly take a lock. It's a big room though and I won't want to use the fridge, so I've brought the bike inside again, where it will toon take on its secondary role of clothes rack.
