 These are the same miles as I was seeing in Germany a couple of weeks ago, each of 7532.5 metres. There's a stone like this every mile and sometimes a smaller one to mark the half miles. There's a smaller square marker every kilometre. When I came down this road in 2003, I got a photograph which had examples of both types next to each other. I missed that this time though.
