 I was worried that my messing around getting lost on back roads had meant that I would still be outside when these funny-looking rain clouds came over. Fortunately, they missed me. It's bright and sunny in the other direction. The reason for trying the back roads was that I wasn't sure how busy this road, which according to my map is route 2, would be. It turns out that it's fine and with that tailwind back, I'm flying along again. I'm pretty close to the border with Hungary, where cycling on a route with a low number like 2 would be illegal. Croatians don't seem to use road numbers though. I don't think I've seen a single one on a sign since entering the country. Fortunately, this road does have plenty of signs with place names, and comprehensive signs to my hotel, which started 22 km in advance.
