 This part of Zagreb seems rather pleasant, unlike the suburbs through which I have just come, which were a dump, sometimes literally. In one place, there was a pile of discarded junk higher than a person lining the road for about 100 metres, with a few people perusing it to see if there was anything they fancied. A little way up the road, one man had got a very broken television set laid out on the pavement and looked like he was trying to put it back together.
