 Down there is the main road which I could have taken. It's a lot longer than the road which I am using though and I think it has to climb pretty high itself further along. I had woried about how busy the main road would be but it's actually wide, smooth and very quiet. I think an important factor might be that the motorway, which also runs along the valley, is free for use by Slovenians. In Italy and France, it sometimes seemed that motorway tolls were pushing an unnecessary amount of traffic onto my roads.
