This pole is apparently number 1356 Zion Park Boulevard. In most American towns, the house numbers along a road seem to increase by 100 for every side road. In a lot of towns, the roads themselves are numbered in the same system, which makes it very easy to find an address. Incorporating the poles in the same system seems very organised.

It's certainly more convenient than the stupid currency. And what on earth is this idiocy with price labels? A few times, I've gone into a shop, picked up just one item with a price label on it, gone to the till with the right change in my hand ready to pay and then found that it didn't cost the amount on the label at all. Tonight, I bought an ice cream. The price was displayed on a large board behind the counter but when I went to pay, it turned out to cost several cents more than that. It seems that a lot of people somehow forget to include tax when they stick price labels on things. It's really annoying. I don't know how anybody can have the right money ready to pay for anything. What possible reason could I have for wanting to know how much my ice cream would have cost if we didn't pay tax?
