The main building of the Boulder Mountain Lodge. It's not your typical motel. Its aim is to 'help the community maintain a rural agrarian atmosphere and diversified economy'. It was constructed from local timber and its opening in 1994 was attended by 10 tibetan monks, as well as most of Boulder's 250 residents.

I thought the bike was starting to feel a bit wobbly this afternoon. I've just checked it and the back tyre, which is the second of the tyres I got in Pueblo, is going the same way as the first by starting to split around the rim. I've put it back on the front wheel, which seemed to do the first tyre some good. I think the next bike shop is likely to be in St. George, 200 miles away. The good news is that I will never be terribly far from a town between now and then so it won't be a complete disaster if the bike becomes unusable. The bad news is that it will be a Sunday when I pass through St. George. Shortly after that, there will be a long desert section where I wouldn't like to suffer a blowout.
