Some maps show La Sal as the largest settlement along this road while others don't metion it at all so I didn't know what to expect. Like the other villages, it was only a few houses and a Post Office but it also had this drinks machine, which made it the most useful of the vilages. If it had had a bin too, that would have made it even better.

Outside the Post Office is an information board giving the history of the postal service in this area from the era of the Pony Express. It was only when I got to the end of the text that I realised that, at 31 years of age, the information board itself was getting on for being as historic as the events which it described.
