The ship handled that storm very well. The winds were force 8 to 9 and there was more movement at the ship than at other times but I'm not aware of anybody having felt ill. All that seemed to happen was that a few things fell off tables, which was mainly because the ship spent an hour or so leaning slightly to the left in a cross-wind. The weather is fine now.

Apparently, there were some porpoises following us for a while at one stage but as far as I know, the only person who saw them was the author Salley Vickers so she could have been making them up. I haven't heard if our bad weather has reached Britain yet. It was expected to further add to the flooding which was beginning when I left home. I did see pictures a few days ago showing three metres of water on the racecourse in Worcester.
