This is where Colorado route 90 becomes Utah route 46. The patches on the wheel seem to be starting to wear through but they have still lasted longer than I expected. Once it becomes impossible to keep the tyre inflated, my plan is to put it on the back wheel again and run on what's left of the rims for as long as possible. I'm 45 miles from Moab now and it's only 10 o'clock in the morning. If I can somehow ride another 10 miles, it won't be absurd to consider walking the rest of the way.

I couldn't get a clear enough view to get a photograph but just behind the trees on the right, somebody is double-glazing a cave.
