 This is the centre of Gunnison. It seems like quite a touristy town. In fact, it's about the first place I've seen which has had a tourist information centre. The whole place looks more appealing than it did when I arrived last night in the rain. I was rather annoyed to find that the hotel I had booked was a few miles beyond the town on the road which I will be taking today, and wasn't at all sure whether I would want to bother coming back here to go to a bike shop this morning. I'm in a better mood about the place now though. Apparently, this is the coldest place in the contiguous 48 states in the winter. At night in January the temperature typically falls to about -23°. I forgot to take a potograph of the enormous fireplace in the motel's reception area.
