All of the hotels in Salida had rave reviews when I looked on-line. One of the reviewers of he Days Inn seemed very taken by the hand-painted wall decoration.

While trying to take a photograph of this last night, I dropped the camera on its lens and properly broke it. Fortunately, there was a Radio Shack only a few doors away so I'm in business again now with a new camera.

Apparently, one of the other symptoms of altitude sickness is loss of appetite. I don't think I can be suffering from that as I found the Radio Shack while walking from Burger King, where I had dinner, to KFC, where I also had dinner.

I was listening to a local radio programme last night, which had a short article on whether deep vein thrombosis was a serious risk associated with flying. I don't really understand how that can be a concern to people who spend their whole life living at this altitude.

After spending hours last night trying to pay my gas bill when almost every website in Britain seemed to be experiencing difficulties, and spending the morning working out how to operate the new camera, I decided against trying to get someone to look at the bike. Gunnison, tonight's town has not 2 but 3 bike shops so I'll try there tomorrow morning instead.
