The whole of Kansas seems to be covered in a huge grid in units of one tenth of a mile. Typically, there is some kind of road along every tenth grid line. Luckily, the cycle route is staying on the surfaced roads. The grid system makes navigation so easy that I didn't even need to look for the power pole labelled 'Switch P7-F901 KG&E' at which the instructions told me to turn right.

Today, I am travelling mainly west but sometimes north. There is a strong wind from the south-west and a very clear difference between how easy it is to ride in those two directions.
