My motel in Pittsburg, Kansas. The receptionist seemed insistent on me bringing my bike into my room even though it is upstairs and there are loads of other bikes just over there. While it was in there, I noticed that in a couple of places, there are gaps in the rubber of the front tyre and you can see a yellow internal part through them. The man in Fat Bikes inflated it with a compressed air line. Perhaps he pumped it up too much. There is a bike shop here in Pittsburg but I would really like to be on my way before it's likely to open. The next one is a couple of days away. I hope the tyre survives.

I don't know it it's down to the tyre or the roads but my new back tyre doesn't seem at all good at providing lateral forces. It means that if a road slopes from one side to the other, I end up sliding down it, and I have have to take corners almost as slowly as American cars.
