It's a Cyclist! This is Joel or Josh or something. He's from the west coast and is cycling the full TransAmerica from Oregon to Virginia. He was talking a bit about the route behind him and told me something I have heard mentioned before but never really believed: apparently, there are no really steep bits in the Rocky Mountains and they are less tiring than the Ozarks which I have just crossed. I've never had much success at trying to estimate how much climbing I've done on a day like today and how it compares to crossing a proper mountain pass. It's probably best to just wait and see what happens.
