A roundabout! You don't get many of those around here. The cyclists all seem to know how to use it though. Actually, everybody was staying in lane and overtaking very well on these paths, even the pedestrians.

I have to say that drivers in America are all very polite. I wasn't really expecting it. Everybody seems to sit and wait for everybody else to go first, even when there's no need for it. It all seems very relaxed. I've had people who were waiting to pull out of side roads reverse to give me room to go past even when they were already so far back from the line that I would have missed them by miles. I've also seen pedestrians step back to give me extra room to pass, even when there was a grass verge between the road and the pavement. Everybody just seems to give everything that moves masses of space.
