 You might just be able to make out the blue 'Indiana' sign up ahead near the bridge. The building on the left is a large fireworks shop. It's proximity to the border, along with the fact that it is the first of several I will see over the next couple of days, implies to me that fireworks aren't allowed in Ohio. The strange thing is that this shop is so close to the border that the entrance to its car park is in Ohio, which makes me wonder how customers get their purchases away. Indiana is kind of like the Latvia of this trip: the middle one of three similarly sized states, in which I am only intending to spend one night, in the capital. Perhaps it was for that reason that I think I was subconsciously expecting there to be some kind of checkpoint at the state line. Of course, there wasn't.
