The view from the motel. The rain only lasted for about ah hour so I almost certainly would have been able to reach my intended motel if I had waited. It wasn't quite as far away as I had feared and, since my previous two trips have been in an Eastbound direction, I didn't really appreciate that the sun sets here about 40 minutes later than it does in New Jersey.

It's a shame I didn't reach the motel in Englewood; I only booked it yesterday. I called it from my new phone but was told I could only cancel through the website on which I booked the room. I know their cancellation policy though and it's much too late now. In fact, it's already too late to cancel tomorrow's hotel in Indianapolis so I'll just have to get up early and see if it's possible to ride 130 miles with the front gears stuck in first.

I also should have realised that the train I could hear honking its way through the town as I came through earlier ran right past the motel. Some of the trains here are very slow. I must have kept up with that one for about 5 km. In fact, I think I gained on it slightly.
