 The route recommended by Google Maps goes that way, along the pilgrim route. Roughly where the path disappears from view, a man coming the other was stopped to talk to me. We established pretty early on that I don't speak Spanish but he still did a lot of talking. Unless I'm mistaken, the gist of it was that it would be better to use the main road. I took his advice and I think he was probably right.
