 I made a bit of a blunder earlier. The old railway line forked and both branches are now bike paths. The one that I want to use was actually the one which went straight on at the junction but I didn't even see that the was a junction and just followed the obvious path, which was the branch which curved off towards Mont-Saint-Michel. Here's some scenery while I try to get back on course.
