 I'm now near La Rochelle University, where most of the roads are named after academics. This is Rue Émile Picard, after the mathematician. I think the two lanes on the right are meant to be for buses, one lane each way, and the two lanes to the left of the divide are supposed to be for all other traffic, including me. There has been no other traffic along here though so I can't confirm that.
