 Despite what I said on Friday, the route which I have been using since Friday morning is the Tours branch of the Camino de Santiago, although I don't know which of the four carriageways back there was actually on the alignment of the original medieval road. I'm continuing to follow the Camino, which cuts a pretty straight route towards Bordeaux, but the motorway has now peeled off and gone a different way.
