 Tonight, my view is of the pool, part of the terrace of the restaurant, which closes at half past nine, and the River Nive. Bayonne is at the point where the Nive flows into the much bigger River Adour. The old town straddles both sides of the Nive but stays on one side of the Adour. A bit like Kraków or Adlaide, Bayonne has a ring of parkland as a buffer between the old town and the suburbs. This hotel is just outside that ring, so all there is downstream of here on the Nive is a park and then old town.
