 I'm near the end of today's route and the pedal hasn't fallen off again but I haven't tested it much because this afternoon has been so hilly again that I've mostly been walking up hills and coasting down. Earlier, I showed a McDonald's where I ate in 2011 but not this year. Now I'm at one which I passed but didn't stop at in 2011. Out of the small number of hotels which had rooms available for tonight, I specifically booked one with a restaurant but today's ride has dragged on for so long that now I'm worrying that by the time I've had a shower and washed my clothes, it might not still be open. That wouldn't have been a problem in Arroa-Behea a few days ago, where I came down just after seven o'clock with the intention of having dinner, found the restaurant closed so went up and ate nuts and sweets in my room instead, and later found that the restaurant didn't even open until eight o'clock. The culture in France might not be quite the same as that though, and anyway I've now got a craving for more Coke than a fancy restaurant would probably believe.
