 I was on that main road heading in the direction away from the camera. A sign said that I had to get off and that bikes weren't allowed on the next section of that road, but I can also see a blue sign saying that bikes have to get off at the next junction as well, which is where I want to go. Google Maps showed that to get there, I had to get off and on again, which is what I thought I was doing by coming onto this bridge, but I now think that it meant I had to get off, go round a roundabout and get straight back on again at the same junction. That bit of road looks a bit dangerous though. Another option would be to go along the path on the left side but I haven't worked out how to get to that; cyclists keep disappearing under the bridge where I'm standing and not reappearing on the other side. I can also see a red cycle path at the lower level between the railway and the Holiday Inn but it looks like I would have to go a long way to get down there.
