I wasn't at all certain that this was an actual public road. The beginning of it just looked like the kind of gravel area which might be used for storing maintenance equipment. There were no road markings or signs of any kind indicating that it was actually the start of a road, which is why I missed it and went the wrong way earlier. I'm therefore very surprised to see tourist facilities along here. The information board here explains that a million years ago, this whole landscape was at the level of the tops of the hills but most of it has been eroded away by rain.

I suppose that if you wee driving along here and wanted to read the information and enjoy the view, you would just have to leave your car blocking the road. That would be fine though because I was on this road for about 20 minutes and didn't see any other people or vehicles at all.
