![]() As well as being a monument to all mountaineers who have died in the mountains of Scotland, this cairn is also specifically a monument to Sir Hugh Munro, who catalogued Scotland's mountains and whose name is now a term for any Scottish peak which is more than 3000 feet high. The cairn contains a stone from each of the Munro peaks.
