 This was the route of the old A74 dual carriageway. I'm hoping to follow it most of the way to Glasgow. When this road was superseded by the motorway, it got downgraded to the B7076 and had one carriageway removed, which means that for most of the way it now has either a very wide grass verge or a thick strip of fairly young woodland along on one side.
